Three friends, the owner of an auto repair service, a retired school teacher, and a tavern proprietor learned that our Walworth County special needs school had to cancel their annual fundraiser. It was an easy decision for this small group to decide they'd plan a golf outing in hopes of raising some funds. It was a wonderful day and our small community was beyond generous.

Fate took a turn, and we lost one of our founding members in summer of 2024. Tommy Purcell was the driving force behind this endeavor of ours. But we will honor his memory as best we can, by giving back to this community that he loved so much. His passion was for his family, and helping others in need, whether they be human or canine. We're thrilled to be hosting the 2nd Annual Tommy Purcell Memorial Outing on Saturday, May 2nd.

What We're Doing in 2026

In June of 2024, this community lost one of its biggest and best fans, Tommy Purcell. This man gave everything of himself to his family, friends, and community. His generosity seemingly had no boundaries, as evidenced by his support of numerous local charities and organizations in the past thirty years. While he was not born here, he truly considered Delavan his forever home. It was this passion for giving that led to his idea five years ago to have a fundraiser golf outing for a local school, which then resulted in an annual event.

With his passing, we decided we‘d love to honor his memory by changing track to a Memorial Golf Outing.

On Saturday, May 2nd, 2026, we will be holding the 2nd Annual Tommy’s Memorial Golf Outing at Delbrook Golf Course and Greenie's Clubhouse in Delavan, Wisconsin, with proceeds going to Albert’s Dog Lounge, as well as scholarships to Delavan-Darien Tech School.

Tommy was also supportive of our local high school’s program for students who wish to go into a trade, specifically the automotive industry. He was fond of hosting hands-on classes at his shop, Hunter’s Auto Service.

Albert’s Dog Lounge is a foster-based rescue focused on providing loving homes to seniors, special needs, and hospice dogs. We all know of Tommy’s unconditional love for our canine friends.

.

New this year, since it will be held on Kentucky Derby Day, we will have an auction before golf, so be sure to research your choice of horses, set your bids, then watch the race while enjoying dinner after you get off of the course.

We will also have conventional raffles of cash, gifts, and a silent auction. We hope that you will consider making a donation to help us continue our efforts to honor Tommy’s memory. Please contact us via the button below and reach out if you'd like to donate!
